I have just bought this card and installed it but I keep getting screen lockups when I switch from TV to FM radio by useing the mouse or the remote control. I have tried the card in all of the PCI slots on the motherboard but keep getting the same problem. The only way to get out of the Lock Up is to reboot the machine. Has anyone had similar problems or have any thoughts as how to solve this. Windows XP Professional. 2.8 Pentium 4 800FSB. Asus P4C800 E Deluxe Motherboard. 1GB Crucial RAM. Hello marbek, Sorry, I don't quite understand your actual problem of 'lockups' but lets try narrowing problems together. First of all, kindly place your TV Tuner into the PCI slot that is not sharing IRQ with any other equipments and download the latest driver and PVR from www.Leadtek.com.tw Uninstall all the previous driver and PVR and replace with the new version. Honestly, your PC specs are more than enough to support the Leadtek WinFast TV2000XP Expert and I strongly suggest that you return it to the shop for an exchange if your problem still persist after doing all the above.
Hi onestop, thanks for your posting, by lockups I mean that the computer completely freezes and I have to reboot to get out of it again. I have had the card in a PCI slot that does not share its IRQ address with anything else and have also tried the latest driver package from the Leadtek site and it still freezes up. So now I am at a total loss of what to try now.
Hi Marbek I have the same problem but not all the time. Sometimes after rebooting, I click on Winfast Wizard a few times and Winfast PVR works. I am using Pentium 4 3.2 with 1 Gb memory. I have updated the driver from the leadtek winfast site but still the performance can be erratic. On the other hand I have transferred some of my hold Hi8 tapes into the hard drive in MPg2 format without any problem. If you check the hardware device in Windows, you'll be told that the driver is not XP compliant. So there'll be conflict. I think this is the reason why our computers freeze. I am waiting for a new driver - hopefully the manufacturer produces one soon. Regardss
