winlogon virus

    Hi

    i came on my coputer yesterday and it said winlogon.exe is not responding i took no notice but now everytime i log off my computer it just crashes and restarts and i cant do syystem restore it it just restarts also please someone help me

    p.s im only my sons account so excse the inmature name

    Download HijackThis (click the name).
    Create a folder in C: named HjT.
    Extract the files to the new folder.
    Open HijackThis.exe and "Do a system scan and save a log file".
    Post that log in your next reply.

    You can follow xxteakxx's instructions for HijackThis and let some look over it to make sure winlogon.exe is in the correct location. But I don't think it's a virus using the name winlogon. Most likely your logon executable is corrupt. Therefore, repairing Windows with your recovery disc should solve the problem.
