winrar over 4 gig?

    Hey does anyone no y my winrar wont extract a file bigger than 4 gig? and if i'll need a diffrent program? if so which one?

    More than likely your filesystem is FAT32. You need Windows NT/2000/XP and the hard drive in NTFS format to be able to create files > 4 gig.

    im runnin windows xp, how do i make my harddrive ntfs? or is that a stupid question? lol

    Do a search, think it has been answered several times here, from memory open a command prompt and type:
    convert c: /fs:ntfs
    Note that it is a one way conversion, it won't convert back to FAT. Also if you have a dual boot system, like between Win9x and XP the older one won't read NTFS.
