Winstaller UPDATE 10-14-07

How does this recovery mode thing work? And does your PSP really only Brick if you don't follow a step? Thats what i heard.

 

finn65 only install the updater to 3.10a2.(you don't need to reinstall all)

Mather it does not matter if you have a TA-086 motherboard.
and you can use the one you like.(I think 3.10 OE is better)

LILBUCK that are the files you use to update.(delete them for the GAME fodler)

scagnetti the XMB is the psp menu.(the icons and all of that)

xbox12345 all you need to know is if you have a 1.5 psp you can update to one of this FW's.

kmike22 yes you did messed up. Why did you update to 2.81?
you needed the 2.71 downgrader.
but know that you have a 2.81 psp you need the 3.03 downgrader.(so update to 3.03 and you will need the GTA lcd UMD)with 2.0 FW on the UMD (and go to the thread in the link for help not here)

MidnightJ if you do not look in the Readme that is how your psp's brick.
Look in the Readme so you know how the recovery works.

This is not the forum to ask but since its already out there, its a compressed ISO. Its a disk image of a PSP game compressed.

All right i just downgraded my 2.71 to 1.5 and im excited it worked. After being such whuss i got sick of using Devhook all the time. So do i just run the 3.03 OE-C Win Installer so i it will put all the files i need for upgrading 1.50 to 3.03 OE-C in the right folders?

And can someone explain how the recovery works, if it doens't install properly? And if i recover can i attempt to update to 3.03 OE-C again?

yup, itll install a update file thing on your mem stick so just run and and youll have 3.03 oe or w/e soon. for recovery just hold onto R while turing on psp and itll come up. recovery is only on the custom fw

 

Well i got 3.03 OE-C, and im super happy it worked. 2.71 to 1.5, then to 3.03 OE-C all in one day . So does the recovery thing just recover your PSP when your writing flash to it, say like custom XMB stuff and custom fonts? I'm not planning to do that, so im fine with what i got.

i have used the installer and it work great!! thank you so much!! but im having some trouble, i've converted my ff7, and after i finished disk1 and tried to load disk2 my save game files are gone... i'm really a noob so i dont know what to do,..

i have tried copying the memcard1 and memcard2 from the previous save game and puting it on the disk2 save game folder but when i try to run disk2 it wont play, i also tried copying the whole contents of the save game file from disk1 but still does not work... i would be
greatful if someone can help...

One of you smart people help us here! There are two of us trying to figure out how to upgrade from 2.60 to 2.71.



We format the mem card, get the file, put it in the correct file on the PSP: PSP/GAME/UPDATE/8046_EBOOT.PBP, go to game, try to load from mem card, and BAM! Same error EVERY time: corrupted data. What is the deal!? We have also tried to upgrade to 303 and no luck there either. I know this probably belongs somewhere else, but I would not break protocol if just anybody could answer this... I need the professional's help! Thanks in advance.

also i found out and updated to 10-A2 its the best one nd lets you have the 4th brightness without plugging in the adapter

 

Krupokuro this is only for the winstaller help. Search for what you need.

Nigels1 edit your post and the file name needs to be eboot not 8046_EBOOT.PBP (like this PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP)

XboxIsDaB why do you want to use 4th brightness?(you will get less play time)

I've tried finding a readme file, but I can't find one. If there is one can you point me to it.

Before I try and upgrade from 1.5 to 3.03 oec. can you confirm the following:

1. Should I format the memory card 1st?
2. The PSP should be fully powered up.
3. Where do I put the 3.03 OE-C on the memory stick?
4. What do I do then?
5. Should I have a game in?
6. How long does it take?
7. What is the recovery mode for and how do I use it?

This are the step i have done but still not working

By the way my PSP is 1.5 ver Jap set

1)First i do was to format the MS
2)i install the wininstaller from pc to PSP
3)install the wininstaller from my PSP by the program.
After that how should i go about putting ISO in where.
I try to create a ISO Folder but doesn't seems to work.
I think i not very good in this .thank if anyone is kind enough to advice.

 

First of all, dont appoligize for being a noob! Everyone was a noob at some point so they cant really jump on you for it without being a hypocrit. Now, you made the ISO folder in the memstick root and put your .ISO in there? It should show up even as corrupt data if its there.
