First you would need to check if you have an open pci slot on your motherboard. You need to remove the side of your case to view your motherboard. As long as one is open you are good to go. If you are not familiar with opening your case and such, you may be better suited using a USB Tv Tuner like this. http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=260803&pfp=BROWSE Basically the same as what you were originally looking at without the hassle of opening up your computer.

It will do both. It records your program to your hard drive, you can then watch it,edit it, record to a dvd, whatever you want to do with it really.
