First you would need to check if you have an open pci slot on your motherboard. You need to remove the side of your case to view your motherboard. As long as one is open you are good to go.

If you are not familiar with opening your case and such, you may be better suited using a USB Tv Tuner like this. http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=260803&pfp=BROWSE
Basically the same as what you were originally looking at without the hassle of opening up your computer.

hey thank you soo much for the info! i was wondering (hey i'm not a computer whiz lol) if the WinTV-USB External TV Tuner link you sent me, would record wrestling matches off tv, or if it would record things i have taped on black vhs's years ago? thanks so much!

It will do both. Here is a better link to view what it really looks like, plus it is cheaper. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815116607
I run a dvd/vcr combo through my tv-tuner and it lets me record any tv program/vhs tapes/dvd....
It records your program to your hard drive, you can then watch it,edit it, record to a dvd, whatever you want to do with it really.
