winxp sp2 slow after update

    i reformate my laptop and did fresh install of winxp sp2 home edition, then i did windows updated and inflation.

    now i my laptop is kind running slow when try to open software ie and Firefox and Microsoft., and more.

    i did defragment, disk clean , ad-ware, sceanspyware , but still same.

    i have Toshiba laptop sp2 home edition
    1.8 cpu centrino, with 1.5 ram.

    note: after the update the laptop is running slow.
    anyone help

    Hey, if you can see lots of icons in the bottom right hand side of the screen you may have too many programs and services running in the background. Use msconfig and kill all not needed programs and services from the startup configuration...see if that helps..

    I would check and make sure it's not one of your spyware/antivirus programs causing the slowdown. When I was using spyware terminator, that was causing a noticable slowdown on the entire computer, when I uninstalled it, it fixed it.

    i checked it ,msconfig, defragment, clean disk. everything but still slow.

    i heard that the if i removed one of windows update, the problem will be solved.
