i have wireless broadband - using a netgear adsl dg834g router.
I have been using it for about 2 months and the security setting is protected with WPA. All has been fine until i got home today, switched on my laptop and connected - it didn't connect for a few minutes so i clicked on the "view wireless networks" and mine appeared in the list as "unsecured wireless" - i then clicked on it and it connected without my security key.
I have gone onto the router and the security settings were set to "disabled" - i have now reset this to WPA but anyone know why this would happen ? I can't see my neighbours hacking me - one of them has a permanent unsecured connection - so any ideas welcomed
    Thanks

i dnt know, i dnt use wpa or any password it could b easily broken so i use mac filter each pc has a unique code called mac address so i configured my router to only accept my mac address so the ONLY way 2 get into the router is using MY pc or a wired pc connected to the router its way more secure u should try that the only problem is if u want to add another device u have to go and manually enter the mac address to the router but its worth it
