I would like to untether my presentation laptop from being hardwired to an LCD projector when I give presentations. The reason is that normally when a hotel or organization hooks up the speaker's laptop for a presentation to an audience, the laptop is tethered by a hardwire connection to the location of the lcd projector which is typically located several feet away from where the speaker is located. I would like to have my laptop at the podium, be able to see and use it and then have it communicate with an LCD projector which might be located several feet away in a hotel ballroom, for instance. Here is the kicker. I typically use Office 2007 powerpoint with some imbedded movie or film clips with sound. I run Vista on a Sony S series VGN-S360 laptop with 35 gig or harddrive avail and 1 gig of ram. Typically, I plug some portable, powered speakers into the sound output of my laptop and these usually provide ample volume for even a large audence. What I would like to accomplish is to connect the laptop and the LCD projector wirelessly...but have the video clips play nicely on the big screen in the room. Can I now do this wirelessly and have the video and sound play nicely or am I relegated for the present time to a 30 foot hardwire (even if one exists) between my laptop and the LCD projector?
