Ok after 2 days with no response in the other section, yes i am double posting. But the section i posted in seems to get no activity. have a Linksys wireless router, when i was using a crossover cable to the router Xlink kai would start up and detect everything just fine and FTP wprked as well. Today i bought a Linksys WGA54G wireless gaming adapter. I went through the set up disk (with a Linksys tech) and saved the settings, plugged it into the Xbox and then turned on the Xbox. I have it set up in my MS Dash (with Linksys tech)which seems to be ok as it says connected, but can not do anything with EvoX no matter what settings i use, Static with manual config, or DHCP PC set up DHCP IP address is 192.168.1.101 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway 192.168.1.1 DNS 207.69.188.185 & 186 & 187 Xbox set to DHCP shows IP as 0.0.0.0 on dashboard Whe set up manually it has IP 192.168.1.103 subnet mask, gateway & DNS all match the above still nothing IP of adapter is 192.168.1.250 when plugged into the router i can ping it just fine. When plugged into Xbox all lights on front are lit up which would not be if it is not gettting a signal, like the eithernet light goes out when i turn of the Xbox When using Xlink Kai it will say it is reachabe and console is configured correctly. But when i put in a game i search for games in system link it will never find one even if i know one is there. With the crossover it will find games just fine. I have tried EVERYTHING i can think up to make an FTP connection and nothing is working
sure can, but if you have the same luck i am having then i would not buy it. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Link...93823/catOid/-12980/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do I have tried everything that i can think of, and anything that anyone has suggested and still can not make an FTP connection or use the system link game option wirelessly. I am thinking that if i can fine the receipt i will see about exchanging it for the D-Link with Gamefuel technology which i have just read today on Teamxbox was a great wireless adapter, but i thing the receipt is gone so i may be stuck with this one. But with both of my products being Linksys wireless devices i thought that it would make it much easier. But after a week of trying, 5 calls to Linksys tech support and 4 emails to them i still have no FTP connection as they know nothing about game systems even though they make gaming adapters
talked with Linksys techs 5 times already. Those people are not very helpful. They just frustrate you more reading problem solving tips from some book in front of them. They need to hire people who have actual experience and knowledge. I followed the set up instructions they mailed to me and it did not work either. I know how to set up all the IP addresses and all that. But just can not seem to get this to make the connection between the adapter and the router. I have tried every method that i can come up with and so far have gotten no further then when i took it out of the box. I wish my roomate had not thrown away the receipt because i would just return the thing.
