If someone out there knows anything about this please help me out. Im completely new to this.

I'm getting internet at home. It's going to be Dry DSL since I don't have a land line.

What exactly do I need to get my network setup?

When googling one website says a Router while another says a Modem.

Here's what I want to do...

Internet on my desktop. I have a Linksys Wireless-N card that I could use to get the internet to this computer.

My wife's Lenovo Laptop has a wireless-G card.

So, do I need a wireless router or a modem? or both?

I seen a good deal on a Netgear Rangemax wireless router but don't want to buy it if it's the wrong item.

    Thanks!

First of all, is it Cable you're getting or 'normal' Broadband ie thru a phone line ?

Through the phone line with Dry DSL. I have to pay an extra $8/month to the Internet service provider for Bell Canada to provide something called a “Dry Loop” since I don’t have a land line. I just use my cell phone.

i think you'll be getting a modem with that service so will need a wireless router that will be connected to the modem then sends signals wirelss to both your desktop & laptop.
