wireless mouse will not work on my usb

    so i got this wireless mouse and i have 3 ports for my usb. it works on one of my ports but doesnt on the other one. how do i make it work on my other port?

    Welcome to AD. First of, have you tried any other USB device in the port that the wireless mouse doesn't work with?. Assuming you have and it doesn't work then we can assume that it's a problem with the port. You mentioned that it works in 1 port but not the other. You have 3 ports so what happens with the 3rd.
    Assuming that you're using Win XP, click on Control Panel ->system->hardware->device manager. Scroll down until you find the Universal Serial Bus icon.
    I have 2 USB ports on the compy I'm using and here's what mine shows:

    On 1 port I have a USB infra-red mouse and on the other is a 8 in 1 card reader. Now here's what I suggest you do. Left click on the USB Controllers icon to expand the tree and then right click on each of the USB icons and click on properties. See if it says that 'This device is working properly' in the Device Status box. And below where it says Device Usage ensure that it also says 'Use this device(Enable)'. Try this and see if this helps. Post back your response and we'll proceed from there.

    also check in the bios that all usb's are enabled & not certain ones as i've seen that feature before.
