Does anyone know if there are any types of wireless pc cards like this, http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e191/Addict173/29047_pdi.gif for desktop computers.
that is a laptop wireless card! why not use a pci wireless card as you need a pc adapter to use a laptop card?
wr6739 what do u want to do with the wireless card, do u want to set up an adhoc network (2 computers/laptops only) or just c if u can connect to an avaible wireless network in your area lol, or will u at sometime invest in a wireless router.
Don't the notebook cards from phone services like verizon just work like phones (you don't need a a router or modem, it's just wireless internet access anywhere)?
oh i c, u want a phone card not a network card, yea they should be availbe to normal computers i think me and tocool thought u meant u wnated wireless network card not those sort of cards. My bad... do some research and u should be albe to come up with one like that which is pci or usb if there are avaible.
Ya, well I want to put a computer with internet access in a house in the mountains, but my isp doesn't provide service to it and I think the phone lines were layed too long ago, so dsl isn't an option. So I was just wondering if there is any other way to get internet access up there.
you want a pci telephone modem card like what is in this link. http://www.pcvonline.com/products.aspx?cat=Modems&sub=&sub2=
That wireless card you shown us is a satelite wireless card. They only work in the major cities and service costs about $80 a month. If, however you do not want a router or whatever, go for it. Read this article: This is what that card is for: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1770829,00.asp I hope it has cleared up a few things.
