These two components, The Netgear WGR614 v6 and the WG311 v3, are recommended as they are the same speed. I am connecting the desktop card to an Athlon 64 1ghz. I just want to be able to use the computer to browse through the internet and such. I connect and it seems to disconnect a lot. I tried the card on a P4 based system, the HP pavilion A630N, and since the router was in the same place it got 100% signal strength, as opposed to 75% in the Amd machine, but still didn't hold a connection. Now, I've had this router for a long time since it was only connected to wired computers, but now it is only connected with a wire to the HP. I have reset the whole router and re-installed the drivers. I'm 100% sure there are no driver conflicts. I wanted to know if it could be the router or the card? On the AMd machine, it would connect and then disconnect. Same thing happened in the HP, I took out the wired connection when I did this. Then the Hp said it had limited or no connectivity which was weird. Thanks for the help, I can still trade the Wireless card so I hope that would be the issue. Any suggestions as to what to do? Ps. I am going to borrow a laptop, and in case i don't lose connection on the laptop, since it has an integrated wifi card, would it be safe to asssume it's the card.
