Most wireless routers need to be set up to broadcast a signal for your laptop to see the network. I have noticed by default, most companies have this turned off, so it is not broadcasting it SSID. Should be in the settings of the router.

it was acualy really easy i just have never done it before
all i had to do was change the ip of the wireless router
as it was the same as my modem, make sure all the cabels
wer connected ok then set up the wireless network just the
ssid and the wep encyption after that just enable the
wireless on my laptop search for the network enter the
wep key and connet. so so easy.

    Excellent!

Easily done when done step by step.

    Glad it worked out.

Good Job! I myself had a similar experience two days back. Luckily for you the problem wasn't the router. I waisted three days trying to setup the router to share an internet connection. It turns out there was an incompatibility with the router and DSL. I returned and bought a different brand router and it works great.
