    hey guys,
i have a airlink101 wireless router, model:AR420W. i was using it the other day and all of a sudden it just died. ive been trying to get in to it using internet explore and typing 192.168.1.1 in the URL bar but it wont let me get in, so i cant change the firmware. ive tried reseting it and finally i reformated my whole computer but it didnt help. when i go into the network connection the ip address is all screwed up. it starts with 169. but normal ip addresses are supposed to be 192.168.1.1 or something along those lines. so i dont know what the deal is. do you think anyone can help?

How many PCs are hooked up to the router? Are all of tehm acting the same? If so, then its the router. If not, the IP stack could be corrupt on your main PC.

The 169.x.x.x is a private IP address that the PC gives itself when it is not issued one from a DHCP server (in this case, your router). I wouldnt sorry about trying to reflash it. Sounds like it may be a brick. Pick up a new one. Not too expesnive these days at all.
