Hi, Just a question for anyone who may have run into this or a similar problem before... I have recently moved into a new apartment building and there is already internet there but it must be used through a LAN connection and internet is perfect but when i plug it into my wireless WRT54G Linksys theres a problem... All seems to connect ok, i can see it on wireless netwoks and it connects with excellent strength and i can even log into the setup with the 192.168.1.1 cmd but unfortunately i cannot access the interent through it, I have used to wireless router in my previous place with no problems, i do not know what the ISP is in the building and suspect it could be some security feature their using, if anyone has any suggestions on what it could be or a fix for this i would greatly appreciate it... Thanks in advance...
I suggest you contact the owner of the network for the building, they could well be barring unrecognised MAC addresses from internet access.
