When I try to convert a wma file to mp3 nero say windows wont allow me to convert to do this but when i use a program called Magix mp3 maker it works fine what up with Nero 6.6.0.1.8
Hey rbrock This is most likely because you do not have an mp3 codec installed that intergrates with windows. Your program, Magix mp3, has its own mp3 codec coded into the software. Magix probably doesn't install a codec for windows or depend on a codec already installed to run. This is why Magix can make the MP3's and windows cannot (at least without installing the codec first.). BTW: Even if windows did have the codec installed, I don't think Nero supports converting to Mp3 without buying a plugin for it.
thanks i'll look for it what im doing now is copy, use magix to convert, delete wma and replace then mp3 round about way but works
http://www.bitburners.com/Nero_Audio_Plugins/ I have successfully used these codec plugins in Nero to convert from one format to another
