I have Vista and running WMP11. When I try to play and movies or any sort, mpeg, avi, or what ever I get an error sayinng windows cannot play this file. It was working one day and then the next it wasn't. I have the latest codecs installed. Got them from afterdawn.com. Cant find a newer version of WMP to install and see if its curropted. Any help thanks.
Have you installed any recent updates. Have you tried using system restore to take your system back a few days. I never use codec install packages, I always install divx player, for all my xvid, divx and avi files, for playing mkv or h264 I use VLC player.
