I've got a windows media video file which plays without any suggestion of a problem from windows media player or zoom player except that the colours are all screwed up. They are in large coarse blotches of primary colour. The two programmes seem unaware that anything is wrong at all, which makes me think it can't be a corrupt file. Anyone got any ideas? If it is a corrupt file is there any way to fix it? (Both programmes play other files no problem. regards, ab
I had this problem before. Is this a WMV-HD file? If so install the newest windows media player from microsoft and it should play fine. Hope this Helps.
I don't know what wmv - hd means. Take a guess - windows media video high definition? Whatever. It's right what you say. I tried it on another computer and it played okay so I knew for sure it wasn't the file. So I did what you say. I installed the latest windows media player and it plays no problem now. I haven't tried it with zoom yet. I wonder what will happen? Maybe it was a codec missing that the latest wmp installed and now zoom will use it? God knows.... thanks for the tip. regards, ab
Yes, zoom is playing it now. It is 'letter' by kimjongkook if anyone is interested. I'm going to ask about zoom. Better start a new thread I guess. To finish this thread I'd really like to know what probably caused the error. Would my guess perhaps be right? It was a missing codec that windows media player imported when I updated it? Because if that's the case then it is a reason for installing and keeping wmp even if you don't like having it. Which I don't. regards, ab
