I used Nero to "Make a Data DVD", so I put the disc in my DVD recorder and nothing shows up. MPEG files show up on "ILO" as "DATA" in the front of the player but wmv files don't show up on the "ILO DVD Recorder" despite it saying "Plays Windows Media"

There are over 40 separate wmv files on this disc.

If DVD Decryptor is used on the disc, only 2 files are outputted

    1 large ISO file (8GBs)
and 1 MDS file (9 kbs)

This was done using Windows XP, Nero v6, on an 8.5GB disc.

[bold]What are the steps that I need to take in order to be able to view these WMV files on my ILO DVD Recorder without losing the "separate file" format ? [/bold]

Did you use Nero Burning Rom to make the data DVD, or nero Express to make a WMA DVD?

I used Nero Data to make it. Should I have made it using the other one?

Why don't give it a try? Do you have that option with nero 6?

Yes it does have this option however, this appears to be for audio only (wmA) and I need to burn (wmV) files.

yes, now that I read the the post again I see that you want WMVideo! My bad!
I don't know if your problem has something to dowith the disc being dual layer, or some burning settings in Nero. Did you do a multi session disc?

no, it's all on the same disc. I can see and play the files using Windows Media Player on the computer, but not on my ILO.

I have the same problem Duugg. Some of the video files I created on a data DVD using Nero 6 play on my ilo player but not others.

Its frustrating since this method is a great alternative to burning a DVD video which will take about 4 hours with a large video file (700 Mbs or more).

Until someone can get this to work, we'll have no choice.

Are there other DVD players that play windows media files?
