Hi all, I'm new here. I had an original .avi of a movie that was 35 gigs. I compressed it down to about 30 megs as a windows wmv file. However, I can't open it in Adobe Premier. Doesn't recognize that file type. So I need to convert it back into a format Premier can read. Wanted to convert to mpeg preferable. Anyone know of free converter that can do this which I can use? Thanks
35 gigs?? WOW thats a lot!!! lol Anyway, when you compressed it, you compressed it to wmv to 30 megs, that doesnt sound very good! if you can, compress it to mpeg-4 divx and then convert it to mpeg. You can try and load the uncompressed avi into TMPGEnc but nothing says it will make it the whole way through the file!
Thanks 4 the info Dela. #1 - The problem is, I don't have the original avi. I only have the .wmv. I rendered it out for my old company, and they compressed it so they can put it could be viewed on the web. All I was able to grab when the doors were being locked was the small easily transportable stuff. #2-... I dont know even know where to begin on the "How to's" of compressing to mpeg-4.... or what TMPGEnc is... My knowledge is mainly in 3D. Any help appreciated.
