in the message "Why is my AVI files Not Valid" if the avi files are divx, then what do you need to do to get them to be a VCD and play on a dvd player that supports VCDs?
You need to re-encode them to MPEG-1 -- re-encoding anything __WILL__ make the video look worse. Instructions for converting DivX + subtitles to VCD can be found from here: http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/divx_with_subtitles_to_vcd.cfm
first of all you need to encode them using tmpgenc ...if it says your avi is not valid you may need divx codecs...3.11,4 ,5.02! like dRD said you will lose quality but it is still cool to watch your video on your tv instead of on your computer, god knows we spend too much time there already... after yu encode then you need to burn them as a vcd with nero or someother burning software that has vcd capabilities...
