Wont Boot Up

    I got a 2 year old computer and i think its starting ti play up. i cant even put the computer on, it goes on the bit where it says
    "dvd/cd Boot from cd" then the screen goes black. And its been going pretty slow now. Can you help resolve this problem. (ive tried formating). Do i need a new motherboard or something?

    Sounds like it may be time for a new hard drive.

    did you just plug it in, do you see it recognized in bios or boot screen? or do you not even see the boot screen?
