I have had minimal problems up until now, problem now is that when complete, dvd will not play in home dvd unit, but plays fine in computer dvd drive, what's up with that? I cannot figure it goes through anylize and encoding and burn with no problem...Help
buckscrap , Welcome to the forum, That problem is usually associated w/ the blank Media to DVD Player compatibility. What is the name brand and model # of the DVD Player. We need that before we can suggest what blank media you should try. Also what blank meda are you using now?
Thanks Car.Mike but the problem is NOT with the media I have used the media from the same spool and it worked fine, I had a friend use two from the same batch and he got them to work fine! All media and dvd player have not changed but something else is going on! HELP
Car.Mike I didn't mean to sound so gruff, but it is frustrating, the media is Staples brand, I have gone through 100 or so and my friend who just did a few for me has the same media with no problem.
buckscrap , Staples does not produce the best media as they can use different manuf w/in the same batch of DVD's. D/L DVDinfoPro ( free) and you can google for it. It will tell you who the real manuf of the disks are. Report back and we will go from there
Car.Mike there must be more to it, I gave two discs (next ones on the spool) to my friend, he made two copies and they worked fine. I know your probably right that it's not the best media but like I said between the two of us we have used about 200 pieces with no problem up until my problem but he used my supplied media with no issues.......H...E...L...P
buckscrap, We need to know who made the disks. Have you d/l's DVDinfoPro http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ or you can even use DVDDecrypter ( mode .iso>write ). It will tell you who is the Manuf. of the disk. You can also go here: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers Input the model and brand name and it will tell you what blank media others have used w/ that player and if they had any problems. If is not the media then it is the player because that is the only other variable in this equation. The player just might not recog that recorded movie. Could have been a bad disk in the batch you bought .
@buckscrap: Does your stand alone dvd player give you any messages such as "no disc", "cannot identify disc", or "unable to play disc"? What error message(s) would you get?
buckscrap, We can't help you if you don't help us by answering some questions we ask. Like Car.Mike said we need the media ID. Use this free proggy http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ and tell us the media ID. Also at the top it will give you the make, model and f/w of your dvdrw. Tell us what these are too. The f/w will be in brackets following the make and model. Mort
I appreciate the help but, as I mentioned I maybe a newbie to this forum but not really that new with decrypter and shrink! As mentioned I am using the same media at a different location and they work fine, they worked fine with two other computers but now all of a sudden they will do all functions of both programs but ONLY play in computer or laptop drives, when in a tv top dvd player it shows no disc in machine or disc unavailable......this ONLY happens when Shrink or Decrypter used on the other two dvd recorders....Thanks for the help
buckscrap, Did you ever fix this problem. I am having the same problem. I like you, am 99.99% sure that it is not the DVD media. I have gone so far as to buy the same make and model DVD recorder as the one that I have in another computer that I have that works. In my case the problem appears to be the computer. The problem is only with my 2.4 G P4, I have two P3 computers, one of which has same DVD drive as the 2.4 G that does not work. I have lots more details for anyone that can help me. Thanks, Rich
