Wooden PC's - Environmentally friendly... or are they...

    It actually looks pretty cool. I wouldn`t mind a nice oak cabinet with some of my computers. Amagine overclocking one, you have to worry about fires.

    I must admit, it's a very asthetically pleasing option, but I don't imagine wood would help thermals inside the case much :)

    Wood is a really good insulator. The Chinese use wood on their space craft to insulate from re-entry thermall temperatures. I could just see the fire hazard of too much heat.

    But it would match my nice wood desk :)

    Also remember that a metal case aids in cooling by acting like a large heatsink. For instance, I can really tell the difference in my aluminum case and my kid's steel case - mine runs at least 10 degrees cooler than his on the average by using aluminum. Wood would not help dissipate the heat at all.
