Working Xbox Hd to Non Working

Ok I got 2 xbox HD's (Original 8mb ones) One Hd doesnt work so I tried putting in the working hard drive (original from another xbox) and didn't work, I don't know but maybe it needs modding even theough its an original xbox harddrive i'm trying to put in? thankx in advance.

 

your xbox will not read any other xbox hdd. put the original back to xbox to see what is the error code?

I don't think the original works anymore.. guess i'm going to have to buy it a new hd? but will it work with my xbox live account?

it is hard to build a brand new hdd without eeprom.
