Logged on today, did the usal email run and stuff, then suddenly AVG pops up with a warning so i tell it to go to the vault, next thing i know windows is telling me i have some sort of worm that copies keystrokes and the like for my passwords and stuff, i cant remeber what it said it was cos the computer promtly crashed then, but it was something beinning with "Z" I know i didnt get this from someones email or anything, i simply got it from being on a webpage too long that is a bit "iffy" to begin with, so yes i know it entirely my fault and all that, but can anyone help me? I've run AVG and Malwarebyte's Anti Malware but nothing sems to come up other than the odd bit of adware and stuff, last time i had a virus issue this forum helped me solve it, or rather solved it for me... Please help!
thanks for the link but i should probably state that when it comes down to the workings of a computer and its software im quite the novice it says about finding the program and moving the auto runs first issue is i dont know what program the worms located in, second problem is I dont actually know the name of it (the worm) thanks though!
man triple posting, ultimate sin, yer, so ive got that auto run thing up and running, but i cant find any files that refer to "Win32.Zafi.b" would it be diguised as something else and if so what?:S Cheers
1.) A virus usually hides itself and infects other files. What made you think that the name of the virus would be the filename? 2.) Now that you got the actual name of the infection, did you bother trying to use Google for the solution? That's basically all that anyone else here would do.
heh, I'm not THAT stupid, just going out on a limb, and yes i did goolgle it and all it points me to is the anti malware stuff that does bugger all to be honest, as soon as i found out the name of the virus again i googled it Cheers for trying to point me the right way tho
