OK... so i woke up this morning, and found that my computer was making an aweful noise. After some investigation, it turned out to be the fan on my GPU! I decided to take it out, and give it a bit of a clean, as there was quiet a bit of dust sitting in there. This only made the noise louder and more irritating.... being frustrated, i wiggled the GPU, to see if it was losely connected to the AGP slot, but with the luck im having today, i pulled some of the graphics card out of the AGP slot causing a "no signal" error message to appear on screen. I have now tried two other working GPU's in my PC but i keep getting the same error "no signal", and am startung to think that i have damaged my MOBO Could anyone give me any advice on how to rectify this issues (if it is fixable) or specify details on what it is exactly that i have done wrong, or blown... Thanks
hmmm.. remove your AGP GPU on the com and on the com .. see if it has any beeps .. if possible list your pc specification
"Wiggling" an AGP card in a running computer is not a good idea, to say the least. If the GPU is disconnected and reconnected (which is not unlikely in this scenario) then you may indeed have damaged your mobo...
As a rule of thumb, never wiggle any card in a socket when the PC is on, or for that matter at all. But since you have, if you've got an Integrated graphics unit on your motherboard or a PCI GPU, try those.
Hi... thanks for all the suggestions, i never actually got round to using any of them, as i was away for the last few days, but some good news... i have returned to a fully functioning PC... as if nothing were wrong in the first place... odd i know, but who cares, it works
