I've been thinking of buying a DVD-burner (DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RAM), but I know pretty much nothing about the burners. So I would like to have some tips for buying and hints of good burners. Is LG GSA-4040B 4x/2,4x/12x IDE DVD±RW/RAM worth buying if costs about 200€? I have now cd-rw and dvd-rom, is it ok to put third one to my comp?

    thanks in advance!

    hi all,

to have 3 drives is ok! i do it! but it has to be looked at on how you link/jion to the motherboard.

i have a dvdr106d pioneer dual format and i think you will get lots of people recommend this drive even the 105 version does 4x but not +r and is very good!

it depends weather you want dvd-ram also as my drives doesnt cater for this!

dont know anything on lucky goldstar drives realy so cant say if its good or not?

    thx...

All I can say it's that the Pioneer 105(wich I have) is a GREAT burner. But I know that they don't produce them anymore so I wll suggest the 106.

I have the drive you mentioned lg 4040b and i think its great. i found it for much cheaper than you did and its great only 2 duff dvds from 25. having a bit of difficulty applying a firmware but all in all a great dvd drive. if i was you i'd just replace my dvd rom drive and keep your cdrw drive.
