I've searched this forum up and down for answers but I haven't been able to find a problem that is exactly like mine and the answers that I would find would fix the problem but then present another one.
I'm not very tech savvy but this is what I know. I have windows xp and I use a NEC DVD_RW ND-2500A, which I believe has the most updated driver, and I have just wiped out my computer, formatted the hard drives and everything hoping that it would fix the problem but it only came back. At first it was an end of disc-at-once error but I fixed that by upgrading to Nero 6.6.16. Now it's a write error. I updated my aspi to 4.71 but the problem persists, I also checked my DMA settings and they're all on. Here is my latest log error.

I didn't have this problem until a month ago and I temporarily solved it by transferring files to another computer but that takes way too much time. I hope that's enough for someone to read and hopefully understand what's going on.

What brand of discs are you using?
Is there a reason you're doing a multisession DVD?

There was no real reason why I hit multisession but it doesn't work whether I chose multisession or not. I use Sony DVDR.

Try shutting down some programs running in the background.
Did you install something a month ago that could be running?

I have but it was an anti-virus and the latest Nero download, but now that I check out my task manager, there are several programs that are taking a chunk out of my memory usage. I'll try closing those and try to write a dvd again and post back with the results.

That worked! I closed Firefox down because it was taking up more than 100,000 kb and a few other programs before running it again and it finished under 10 minutes with no problems. Thank you very much dialysis1.

Glad to hear your problem's solved.
Take a look into installing more memory.
