Hey guys. Really dumb question. I got this I/O magic dvd+/-r/rw drive (16X with 4X DL). I burn my movie and game backups at 1x usually, but i cannot get this thing to burn anything at 1x. is there any way i can get stuff to burn at that speed? i heard there is some utility that can force the drive to burn at 1x. the reason id like to burn at 1x is because my ps2 only reads backups at 1x, as do my dvd players. my xbox will read backups at 2x and sometimes 4x. i am using ritek G04/5 media that can be recorded from 1-4x so i dont htink the media is the problem. any suggestions?

    Hi there,

Burn speeds depends on the DVD Burner & the Media.

When I had the Philips DVD8631, it's mininum speed for DVD-R was 4x.

Now I have the NEC-3450A and with the same media DVD-R this burner will support 2x.

    Nope, it's doesn't support 1x, just 2x, 4x etc...

If you put a good quality media (4x or 8x) certified, the lowest speed she be available to ya, probably 2x or 4x based on your burner.
