Writer Problem

    I have a XPmachine 1400AMD 512RAM etc , just brought Pioneer 106D 4x dvd writer.IT Burns Cds Fine.
    I tried using various software Nero6 ,RecordNow & Lately i tired Burnatone and got following Error.

    Might be your media, Have you tried other -R media? BTW, Burnatonce doesn't support +R media.

    hmmm its not the media , tried all different types, weird thing is in my computer my dvd player comes up as CD-ROM so when i remove it and Add new hardware it comes back as Dvd-Rw , until i restart my computer, which is strange, also once i change it back to Dvd-rw it burns fine, any ideas?
