    DVD-R/RW:Mitsumi DW7801-TE
Media: Currently Verbatim DVD+R (although the problem occurs with Memorex and TDK as well so I highly doubt this is relevant).

I can burn around 7 DVDs perfectly fine and then I start to burn coasters. The DVD burns to around 80-98% and then I get this error

    I/O Error!

    Device: [1:0:0] MITSUMI DW-7801TE 1.02 (D:) (ATA)

    ScsiStatus: 0x02
    Interpretation: Check Condition

    CDB: 2A 00 00 1B D2 00 00 00 20 00
    Interpretation: Write (10)-Sectors: 1823232-1823263

    Sense Area: 70 00 03 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 00 00
    Interpretaion: No Seek Complete

If I press retry the Sense area gives slightly different numbers and says write error beside interpretation. The only thing I can think of now is it may have something to do with my slave/master settings (is this possible).

Also, this may be unrelated or may not but my Sony DVD-ROM DDU1621 Drive now "eats" discs. If I put a disc in the drive it sits for a second and then locks up. Then the drive completely disappears from the my computer screen (the icon for it vanishes) and if I look it up under system hardware it says it is working just fine. The only way to get the disc out is to reboot and take it out while it is still rebooting. While my Mitsumi works for everything but DVD writing my Sony doesn't work at all.

Also, to add some weirdness if I wait about a couple of weeks or so my Mitsumi will probably start writing again. I do disc cleanup, defrag, etc in the hopes that it will help but the truth is it seems to just...start working again after a while. Saugman and some other people tried to help me with this particulary problem earlier and any further help would be appreciated.
EDIT: I am burning with decryptor and sorry for below post. I just found the edit button.

    hi

sounds like a clasic case of computer resources OVERLOAD!

is your computer new? fast cpu? lots of ram? and hard drive space?

do you surf and do other things well burning? also do you mean you burn 8 dvdr 1 after the other last one bombs out on you? its getting bogged down eiher upgrade specs or reboot pc and go again...

    Hi,

I had that problem when,I was encoding two different movies and writing another at the same time.
I always keep the task manager open so I can see how much resources
    are being used.
It(cpu) peaked at 100% and the encoding on 1 drive went blank...
and the disc being written froze and I couldn't quit the program or get the disc out until I rebooted.
Sometimes you can only do so much before you overload the CPU.
    Just what happened to me.

Well the first time I was playing diablo and burning the movie but I tried again after defrag, reboot, etc and got the same result while doing nothing else. My computer is about 4 years old. 80G hard drive with about 26 used (there are 3 shrunk movies on it right now). 256MB of RAM. Also, yes I am basically making like 7 in a row and the 8th will burn a coaster (different movies each time, not the same movie 7 times). If it is just getting my computer bogged down then why can't I reboot etc. to fix it? Thanks for help
