hello, I'm using dvd shrink 3.2 and everything goes fine during the back-up process. I'm using nero to burn the dvd. Everything also goes fine with the burning process until the end when it comes to writing the lead-out. Half the time it fails and half the time it works. It doesn't give me much of an explanation except that it says it fails and then gives me some text about the process and times all these things happened. Does anyone have a solution?
Hi and 1) dvd shrink does not work with nero 8 2) poor media can be problemmatic, this is why we recommend Taiyo Yudens 3) do not burn faster than 1/2 of speed rating of disc 4) do not multitask while burning
Alright the previous answer to my question didn't really help. Here is what it says after it fails. 1A20-0218-0000-1286-0538-0681* 1A20-0218-0370-1725-8155-4331* Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.59, size=160016 bytes, created 12/16/2003 1:18:04 PM Nero API version: 6.3.1.4 Using interface version: 6.3.1.4 Installed in: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\ Application: ahead\Nero - Burning Rom Recorder: <LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S>Version: KS04 - HA 0 TA 1 - 6.3.1.4 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 0 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : via Inquiry data (1) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI Connected to MMC as unknown drive with class-nr : 11 Drive is autodetected - recorder class: DVD+R9 DL recorder === Scsi-Device-Map === CdRomPeripheral : LITE-ON CD-RW SOHR-5238S atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S atapi Port 0 ID 1 DMA: On DiskPeripheral : m5289 Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off === CDRom-Device-Map === LITE-ON CD-RW SOHR-5238S D: CDRom0 LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S E: CDRom1 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: CmdQueuing : 1 CmdNotification: 2 WriteBufferSize: 83886080 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 EraseSpeed : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 1023MB (1048048kB) Free physical memory: 554MB (567972kB) Memory in use : 45 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Static Write Speed Table: 0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 10.10.2008 NeroAPI 12:15:56 PM #1 Phase 112 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 263 DVD-Video files reallocation started 12:15:56 PM #2 Phase 114 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 263 DVD-Video files reallocation completed (no file modified) 12:15:56 PM #3 Phase 111 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 263 DVD-Video files sorted 12:15:56 PM #4 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 118 Reader running 12:15:56 PM #5 Text 0 File AudioCompilationImpl.cpp, Line 817 DRM: StartDrmRecording(RealRec:1, ImageRec:0, Copies:1) DRM: Beginning burn process. 12:15:56 PM #6 Text 0 File Writer.cpp, Line 124 Writer LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S running 12:15:56 PM #7 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3898 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 12:15:57 PM #8 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3898 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 12:15:57 PM #9 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3188 Turn on Disc-At-Once, using DVD media 12:16:43 PM #10 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 244 Last possible write address on media: 2297887 (510:38.37, 4488MB) Last address to be written: 2286127 (508:01.52, 4465MB) 12:16:43 PM #11 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 249 Write in overburning mode: FALSE 12:16:43 PM #12 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 2107 Recorder: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S, Media type: DVD-R Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. Moved to Nero forum as not a DVD Shrink issue. Your burner doesn't like your discs... Use quality media from Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. Slow your burn down to 8X with those discs.
but why would this be happening all of a sudden. i had to reinstall the nero would something have changed? should i download a better version of nero? if so which one?
