I don't personally use DvdFab Decryptor, but that is where the problem lies. Does it have you select which Audio portion to rip? I know in DVD Decrypter you first select which movie section you want to rip, then you select a language option. I'll download DvdFab Decrypter later on if you're still having trouble.

    @darkjello
DVDFab Decrypter just rips the whole thing- no other options like dvd decrypter has. The difference is it will handle movies dvd decrypter can't (copy protection).

Thats an interesting problem then. Really don't know how to resolve it, I'll do a little work and get back to you.

May be something you can look into w/ DVD Fab.
One way DVD Decrypter can handle the new stuff is with a few changes to the settings and running AnyDVD. Maybe a possibility for this poster.
AnyDVD not free but has a 21 day trial.

Now one day - soon maybe - I may just break down and get a 60 gig iPod so I'll be looking for your help then for the movie conversion :)

Alright sounds good there Binkie :) I'm gonna download a copy of DvdFab once I get back to my computer and see what the deal is.

    I just might :)
Off topic but I'm debating on the Sony, iPod or Rio. I hate being 'one of the crowd' & just going w/ iPod. Nothing against iPod just the rebel in me :0)
So guess I need to start doing some research before I splurge.

The iPods pretty nice but it really depends on what you want to do with it. Although any shortcomings that it has can pretty much be solved through the use of Rockbox or Linux.

Mostly put movies and music on it. I like the large storage space they all offer.
But here's the newbie in me :)
No clue what else they can do (yeah I know need to get off aD & do my homework on them :)
Then Rockbox? No linux user here too.

Rockbox and Linux are just alternative operating systems for the iPod, the Linux isn't as intimidating as you might think, it looks a lot like the normal iPod interface, just has more options. Meaning you can play different games, play whatever kind of file type you like, and customize how it looks to your personal liking.

And asking people around aD what they think is probably a pretty good addition to just looking up tech specs.

Txs Darkjello for the info - much appreciated!!
Yeah always good to get others input - I just need to at least look up the specs on them so I have some idea of what I'm talking about :)

Looks like I may need help some when I do get one.
Just learned that Rockbox & Linux are alternate os's for iPod. I was thinking more pc - way off track :)

hey darkjello or binkie, did you download the dvdfab and see what you could figure out about my dvd's coming out in french? I am mostly putting movies (dvds) i already own on the ipod so the copyright protection might come into issue there if dvdfab wont copy those. Now my brother just got a 30gig ipod too so it'd be nice if we could figure out the language thing. would dvd decrypter work for most movies i already own? i am new to the ipod but pretty determined to figure it out...

If i click on the dvd decrypter link it sends me right to anydvd... so dvd decrytper must not be available anymore??? or where is it if anyone would know that?

    Hey bellami36
DVD Decrypter is still around just not at aD to download. Here's a link:
    http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/

You should be able to rip most of your movies w/ it. Some of the newer ones w/ ARccOS or Ripguard give it a problem. That's where AnyDVD comes in.
If one gives you a problem post back or do a search - you'll probably find others having problems too.

In the link above Lethal_B has a great guide for Decrypter & Videora.
Him or DarkJello can help you get it right with the iPod.

Sorry for the neglect there bellami, I've been kind of busy and sort of forgot. If DVD Decyrpter doesn't do the trick for you then I can look into DvdFab, but I havn't come across any movies personally that it doesn't work for.

And any problems you have in the process we'll work to resolve, and I'll be a bit quicker about that ;)

In my 1st post there is a link. Lethal_B has guides in this links showing what to do. Scroll down some for the Decrypter/Videora method.

If you are running AnyDVD w/ Decrypter (you'll see a red fox in the system)- change these settings under Tools>Settings:
°General tab - uncheck 'check for structure protection'
°CSS Tab - check 'none' under CSS Cracking Method.
Just remember if not running AnyDVD you need to change these back or decrypter may not rip the movie.
