Im gonna get this processor(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103544) but I dont know wut kinda motherboard would be the best fit... Thx.
Wow. I just cross-referenced that price at my supplier, and the retail here is $975 bucks Canadian. I just built an Athlon64 x2 XP3800+ system for a big-budget type, wealthy guy who wanted a leading-edge system. It was sweet system, with 2GB OCZ memory on ABit mobo. His 3800 x2 was $400 bucks CDN (compared to a nice XP3000+ for $155.) You are gonna pay BIG though, for that 4800 x2... look, it's 2.5 times the price of 3800 x2 :^( That's harsh man - it's too new. Its price will plunge in coming months... My advice? Honestly, for most people the XP3000+ for like $130 bucks U.S. LoL ;^) is a lotta performance for the money. The 3800 x2 I built was extremely fast and is very reasonably priced, less than Pentium D-840 which it outperforms. But if you want gnarly 4800 x2 CPU, you will need sweet 500w PS and good memory - and I recommend ABit motherboards like this one: http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/techspec.php?categories=1&model=246 L8R
well you need a socket 939 board that has a 2000MHz fsb - theres plenty to choose from these gigabyte boards are good and come bundled with a high spec graphics card too http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/product.aspx?code=MBG-3D1SLI theres plenty of others on that site 2... have a browse
