A developer by the name of Wutangrza has released his CFW files that recreate the process that allows peeking and poking which flukes1 has shared with us earlier. Now its only a matter of time before we see modified backup managers like open manager, multiman working with this cfw. http://www.console-spot.com/2011/01/17/wutangrza-cfw-lvl1-2-peekpoke-flukes1-recreation/
FRom what I have read, all current cfw including this ons and waninkoko disable bluray playback functions. Still no fix.
WRONG! this one doesn't effect bluray playback... I was the first to test this one, and it worked fine...
i might update to wutangrza 3.55 but would hold off another day or so until problems arise, and will wait for are proper working bm.
3muk, don't... it does nothing yet... well, it does everything, but the other people need to catch up (The boot managers)..
ye its y i said im waiting for a backup manager, dnt fink dean is going to port it. his getting annoyed from all the noobs and off topic questions :S
Mega noob for the ps3 scene. Why would it all be better with a backup manager around for these new CFW's?
Does anyone know if Kneaw's CFW disables the Blu-Ray movie playback. Also, will backups from 3.41 work on this? Thanks.
Does anyone know whether it works on slim ? I'd rather use PS3 break for anothe some days and wait some days until more guys do the test.
PS3fun, these new firmwares are looking really promising and are working safely on all PS3's. I've been reading all over and haven't heard one report of a brick yet. Wutangs came out first, but you needed to patch it with level 2 by Kneaw to run unsigned code. (any homebrew). I'm just waiting to see if it keeps blu ray support, and if it will allow me to play my 3.41 back ups.
As RickJames said I was wrong, apparently this one does not disable bluray support and works on all model and make ps3 consoles. Just dont mix up this one, Wutangrza's with Waninkoko's which does brick consoles that have 256mb of nand.
Until now, 3.41 was better, at least for lazy people. Now, 3.55 is better...not only does it work just as well, but you don't need to do the power switch-power button-eject button routine every time you start the system. Plus, no need to crack eboot files to make them work with the older firmware.
Is the compatibility list of games working from before get passed over to this new CFW scene? Or do the games need to be tested to see if they work all over again?
