many prople have the"not being able to stop drive" problem nd some of it (not all) has to do with your IDE/SATA settings channel.. chnge the drive to a different port/channel.. update you ide/sata drivers... try getting an earlier version of wx ripper.... try undating/installing all .NET software..... try removing wxripper and reinstalling/downloading it... some of these steps might work... But Also I think it might have issues with 64bit machines I'm not Sure???
I figure out a way to run it in any windows 64 bit system. I used the open source .NET implementation called mono. http://www.go-mono.com/mono-downloads/download.html then I run the "Mono-2.6.1 Command Prompt" from the start menu after that I cd to the directory with wxripper and type mono wxripper.exe when you click the stop drive button wxripper will stop the drive and then crash. so just re run it with mono wxripper.exe then do what you normally do for the hot swapping.
Wxripper works and is an excellent program to back up games with out having to buy a kreon or use 0800 fw. But how can you say kreon is the best way to rip games when it cant even read SSv2 angles? Which is now encourages with ix LT being released. 0800 fw on an xbox drive simply has to be the best way to rip. and the best part is no ebay or ordering we all own one already!
Look at the date of the post where it states KREON is the best way to rip........ then look up when the info on SSv2 was released...... See where im going with this?
Help! I can't get wxripper to work!!!! I keep on getting some unhandled error has occured in your application!!! wtf?
I am having a similar problem. On Windows XP I get an error saying the application failed to initialize properly. And on Windows 7 when I try to find the magic number it errors with an unhandled exception. I can't seem to find a decent copy of wxRipper online these days since mininova was shut down and there is not a copy on xbins that I can find anymore... Anyone that could PM a link to the software or just post it in here would be really awesome... Thanks in advance
There are a couple torrents posted at isoHunt that include wxRipper. Not sure of the versions, but it might be worth checking.
I've tried taking my Hitachi drive out of my xbox and using that but it still won't work. Sorry for the n00b post but is there another option with the Benq drive apart from using either wxRipper or XBC? XBC also won't work for me... just doesn't give me the read options - their all greyed out :S
I managed to decompile the wxRipper and wx360 with reflector the .net decompiler and making it into a fully functioning VS 2008 C# .NET project and compile it to be compatible with windows 7 and windows 7 x64 it might also work with windows vista and others but i also provided the source in case it does not. http://club.myce.com/f98/here-wxripper-works-windows-7-x64-source-code-308561/
