X rescue alternative

    I used to use dvd x copy for x rescue for my hard disks and was wondering if there is either an opensource or paid one that I can use that can find files that have sense been formatted on either files systems.

    Photorec & testdisk both are open source. If they fail post back & i'll provide two other options
