X3 KEY- Advice -0225 Drive

Hello,

I have just ordered an X3 Key for my drive, seems pretty straight forward on how to open up the xbox and install it to the dvd Drive.

Just one query I have I understand before i do this I need to extract the key from the drive? what's the best method for a 0225 drive?

Here is one way to do it.

 

You will either need to drill or cut and solder. You need a lizard tool

 

extract the key? use X360USB PRO or Xecuter CK3i...
but i think it is not worth to buy them because you just use them once.
you'd better go to the modchip store, ask them to extract the key for you.

 

You don't need to cut or drill if you just want to extract your key and thats all you need for the x360key.

Those devices would make it a lot easier but they are too expensive for the common guy who just needs to use it once or twice.

 

xkey actually requires a full dump according to the manual. Extracting the key without drilling or cutting is not a full dump.

 

you dont need a full dump,just the keys and you can use there stock firmware that comes in the stock folder

You are half right. If you have a phat, the x3k requires a full dump unless you just take your key and use jungleflasher to spoof it into a OFW file. The slim only requirea your key so again you can simply use jungleflasher.

 

Ok I am getting mixed responses here,

as far as I know I just need the key-- I have had the xbox key in my house for a week and a half want to get it installed this weekend, someone quite rightly pointd out before- I would only be using this usbpro extractor once bit of waste of money imo if I can avoid it, so does the above link method work? Just to get the key and then do what ever I have to do to put onto the mem card of the x3key
