which is one better and why?

1.trying to see if its even worth downloading.is the processing Power that much better?
2.do games like fear play any better?
    3.are drivers in x64 obsolete?
4.if you cant find certain drivers why even use it?

If you have a 64bit CPU and 32bit windows your system will run at 32bit.... if you had 64bit windows (x64 edition) then your system will run in TRUE 64bit... You may not notice a major speed differance though, maybe on some games or apps that support it... 64 bit is more secure and reliable when preforming tasks...

32bit apps "should" run on x64 edition windows, it all depends on the app or games and if the developers have released updates etc for them....

Drivers are becoming more and more available.... If you have nVidia chipset on your motherboard and nVidia graphics card you can download them from nVidia's web site, they have been out for a while now... As for other manufacturers you should check their website out and see if they have x64 drivers available for their product...

If you have a system that can run 64 then changing does makes sense.
There is a real difference in speed on programs that are written to take advantage of 64 bit processing.

As for the drivers, then you have to make a choice on when it becomes viable to either change equipment if drivers aren't available, or run in dual boot so you can use the 32 bit drivers.

Have never played fear, I mainly do video processing, and find the extra processing power does help.

If you don't really find a need to change to 64, then just wait for a while.

    yea i just built this:

    x64 3700+ san diego
sony dru 810a dvd dl burner x 2[on sale for 2]
1gb kit of ocz el plat timings 1t 2225[real fast mem]
asrock 939-sata 2 mb[because of support for agp and pci-e]kool huh?
asus star ice heatsink and fan[what a pain to install]
    win xp pro[oem]
    wd 250gb 16mb cache sata 2 hard drive[will add 1 later,config raid 0]
hiper r 580 watt sli ready power supply
x-fi fatal1ty sound card with x64 ram drive
is this good enough for 64 bit computing, and when they do optimise it will it be better than xp pro?

    what will it do?

    will my games play faster?
or will it compute alot faster?[download, etc.]

so i should install xp pro then get the trial for x64 huh?

Like i said before if the game supports 64bit then it will utilize it either for speed and textures ect... It will not make downloading faster though that is down to your ISP and what connection speed you have...

If i were you, i would install XP pro for now and get a trial version of x64 to test out and then you can see the differances : )

If you like x64 bit edition then buy it, if not stick with XP pro : )

Are they still doing the download trial version.
I have a full release version which I bought from overclockers for £90.
It will speed up your processing, and any games developed for 64 bit processing will be faster.
Any 32 bit applications will not run faster, as they will still be processed as before.
Downloads are unlikely to be any faster, as the bottleneck is always going to be the network not your hardware.
