i want to throw xbmc on an xbox i found laying around but i wanted a couple questions answered: a) where can i find a skin that looks like the 360s interface? b) how can i tell if the xbox already has a dvd rom? c) i read you dont need action replay (or the memcard that comes with it) if you have a compatible usb jump drive - will this affect dvd playback? d) where is the wiki for this thing? LOL
a) XBMC has a skin included that looks like the 360, i think it's called MC360, not exactly sure as i always avoid loading that one as i think it's utterly dreadful. b) all xboxes have dvd-rom drives... c) i've never used the USB drive method but some people have had success, see next comment. d) All the xbox info you can eat is in the 'sticky' threads up top of each xbox forum, the one in this very forum is well used by myself and others - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/675872 - i personally prefer to use any of the links by 'Chunkhead' in those stickies. In fact i've even contributed to one of the main threads - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/557450/3558187 back when i first got into xboxes and softmodding about a year ago. e) Softmodding allows the xbox to play backed up games.
