I have a modded xbox and I want to use XBMC to connect to shares for media, games, etc. I have a share made and can connect to it manually with an XP machine, but when I use the same user name and password with the SMB client it does not connect. Is there something that I'm doing wrong here? Does anyone have this setup? Thanks.

Obviously Server 2003 will have many more security concerns, but all in all it should work on the same principle.

Have a look at my Networking guide to setup the share correctly!

I read through the guide before I ever posted. I can see my workgroup share and navigate to it now. The issue is though I'd rather just have a list of files show up in list of music, videos, etc, rather than having to work through various folders. Is there a way to just have the files show up and not the sources?

You need to create a shortcut. The sources folder has a purpose, you can't go around it, the library relies on it!
