xbmc usb/component cable question

Hi im thinking of getting an old xbox for xbmc use.

1. To load files (mp3s, avi's) would i be using the usb ports? if so since they are in the back would i be able to use a hub connected to the back?
2. with my current 360 setup, ive got the video via hdmi, and analog audio to my stereo. How can i use the older xbox components similarly? I mean how can i use a digital video output through component cables and use my stereo for the audio?

 

There are no USB ports on the orginal xbox most people FTP files from their PC to the xbox.
