Hi I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this but, I tried to softmod my sons xbox 1....which went ok with splinter cell and sid5 install, played all backups with no probs.

But... after getting all the applications installed and rebooting xbox I discovered that the Ms Dash didnt appear..so what did I do, I installed the MS Dash. Now all I get is the MS Dash at reboot, cant install Sid5 with splinter cell and when trying to ftp the xbox with laptop it wont work! Cant even play backups (unrecognisable discs)

When trying to go into network settings to see ip address on ms dash I get error 21.
So I cant remember what I made the ip address for ftp the box.

    Please help...anyone.

does it recognize the splinter cell game??

did you check if the sid installer file and the splinter cell file are still copied in the xbox memory.

oops.. sounds like you have overwritten your exploited dash files.
If the box isn't booting any backups/burns there is the obvious reason.. you are running the stock reinstalled MS dash from boot, which will deny access to everything. Simple mistake to make.. I have done it a few times forgetting it's a softmod not a hardmod and installing M$ dash to C: instead of E: (where there will be a bachup of it anyway in E:\backup\dashboard that you can link to)

Best thing to do is just start over. Instead of "installing" the M$ dash later you edit the evox.ini file to point at the backed up dash files on E: then it should load from the menu. Why not try the dual boot option next time round if you want to boot either modded or stock on startup.

I'll be honest.. I'm not very keen on softmods.. too easy to break in nasty hard to repair and unpredictable ways. Luckily yours is still ok.. just redo the softmod procedure.

I have to agree in order to install most of the xbox 1 hacks you need the latest dash if not the file will mess up your console softmods are a nightmare.

    Just buy a chip.
