xbox 360 back ups

    could anybody tell me if back up copies only work on certain versions of ixtreme .i have v 1.5 and i got copies of games that say must be updated. is this the console or ixtreme and if i update will it play my old back ups. hope you can help thx

    There are certain games that only work on certain versions of ixtreme (from what I've seen usually its required you have 1.51 or higher for these), but if you have 1.6 (the latest) you dont have to worry about that because it can play everything.

    That is just an update from the disc. Go ahead and update. It will not change what version of iXtreme you have.

    You will need IX1.6 to play any games that have been made after March 2009. So yes, I would update.
