if i have a hitachi dvd drive would i beable to replace it w/ any other 360 dvd drive or does it have to be the exact same model? thnx for your help i realy appreciate it
It doesn't have to be the same. If you have to replace it use a benq, they're the easiest to flash and are reliable, you can get them on ebay for about $30. All you have to do to swap drives is dump the hitachi dvd key and spoof it to the new drive.

spoofing is just changing the key to the one matched to the mobo. dont let it scare you. if you have ever flashed, you have also spoofed. just look around
