xbox 360 Halo edition with Hitachi GDR-3120L rom 79fl

Im new into this, Ive just opened my xbox 360 and dont know what else to do. I know I must flash my drive, but exactly how? I have sata in my pc. Do I need any additional hardware (modchip etc)? Ive been googling almost an hour, but cant find a guide that tells everything from the beginning. Any help will be appreciated.
