xbox 360 media sharing

i have my xbox 360 connected to live with a wired router connection. but wmp11 does not detect the xbox 360. xbox.com says that the wire needs to be connected directly to the pc and xbox but mine's connected to a router. If i take the wire off the router to plug in the pc then xbox doesn't get a internet signal so the media sharing doesn't work anyways. my pc only has one ethernet cable jack so i can't plug my computer ethernet cable and xbox cable at the same time...please help

There are services that need to be running in order for your computer to see your 360 Hope this helps
