So I downloaded the version 1.4 then restore the old firmware and flash the new one...

at some point it ask the flashing speed I chose 2x (2x 5x 8x 16x...)

now I tried playing my orginal games, movies, backups nothing works... (Open tray ; Unplayable disk)...

What else should I do? Can someone please help:

Question again:

1. The guide says to disconnect HD and CD/DVD drives before performing the procedure to prevent it being flashed. Did you guys do that too? just wanted to sure.

2. How hard is the part of Turning the 360 on and off during the 0x51 and 0xD1 phase(BenQ drive)? It rather sounds intimidating by the way it sounds.

Hope this hasn't already been answered; which Samsung DVD-rom do I need to ensure the best stealth? Is it the BEWB, the BEWP, the BEBP, which one? (for purposes of making a legal backup of my original)

 

So I have a Macbook with firewire (with Win XP on it also). To flash a 360 DVD-ROM, I would need one of those SATA-to-Firewire or a SATA-to-USB converter?

I have a 5.25" enclosure, but I believe it only supports IDE. I couldn't use this, could I?

I have just bought a new Xbox 360 for a present. When I took it too the local computer shop who flashed my xbox they said its got a new BENQ drive and it can't be flashed. Mine is an elite with a BENQ and that's been flashed by the same shop.

How long has this 'new' BENQ drive been out?

Is a flash expected soon?

So if my motherboard doesn't have the SATA ports on it, then I can't flash the 360 even if I buy a SATA Controller PCI card. Is that right? If so, then do you guys know a reputable website that I can send my 360 to in order to have it modded? But if I don't need SATA ports on the motherboard then I can do it myself

 

Any know where I can get the latest firmware update done for me - my current one was done abt 2 years ago (bought that way) I want to be able to play on live though.

Guys IM sotta new at this whole burning thing so i kinda need help....I have an xbox 360 halo edition and its modded.....im using a sony viao Fz with a optaric DVD RW Ad-7560a ata driver.....i download this game from torrent ntsc and i tried playing into my xbox 360 and i keep getting the unplayabele disc message .... I just need to know can i use the driver i have to burn games.....I even changed the booktype it says successfull change but it doesnt switch from dvd+r dl to rom.......HELPPP...FIrst TIme AAsking...????????? :$

new consoles have liteon drive, liteon fw isnt released yet so textbook guide is outdated yes

 

What program did you use to burn the game, and to what brand media?
I recommend burning to verbatims at 2.4x using imgburn.

Quick question I was hoping to get answered:

Does anyone know whether I can patch over a patched firmware on my Xbox 360 Hitachi drive?

The drive on the Xbox was already flashed before I purchase it used, so I don't have the original bin files. The mod seems to have crapped out on me, as it will no longer read the same backups it used to.

So, anyone know of any problems I might run into if I attempt to re-flash the drive?

 

If its not reading backups that it use to, then your laser is probably worn out, if backups are still working, then I wouldn't risk re-flashing without the original bin files for backup, are the backups scratched now or still in good condition, I personally would go for a new laser.

i know that i need VIA Card cause i don't have it but why do i need it?

Whats the use of it?

i mean i alreayd have extra SATA connection on the mobo, do i still need it? and where else can it be used?

i searched for VIA Cards and it returned with many cards and since i don't know what actually i am looking for i guess i can get some help from you guys.

the sata controller has to be a certain model for it to work, there are some that work on the mobo but will not really know unless u try it or u know exactly what type u have. so if it doesnt work u will need the via card to connect the drive to the pc

u just need to look for VIA 6421A or L model. one of them is a raid card but to use for 360 u do not need to install the raid drivers as they can cause issues and maybe not be recognized. i bought the non raid version as it was cheaper and i do not need a raid card. i got the syba card and it works fine

u can try that chipset u have and like i said u will not know untill u try, unless someone else can verify if that chipset will work....
